We've designed the system for remote locations and a low power consumption of only 6W per unit makes the system ideal for use in almost any location.

Self Contained Hotspot Gateway

If you plan to provide public Wi-Fi access the UseMyNet UMN500 has a built-in Wi-Fi Hotspot. Visitors are redirected to your personalized landing page, hosted on the router where they are prompted for a ticket code to gain Internet access. You can generate hundreds of five-letter access codes stored on the router which you can give or sell to your visitors. The UMN500 can also integrate with Paypal.com so customers can purchase Wi-Fi access with credit or debit cards.

Dual Wi-Fi for Local and Backhaul Links

The UMN500 has two 802.11 Wi-Fi cards, and is supplied with two antenna. Typically one Wi-Fi link is used with the Onmi-directional antenna to provide local coverage. The other Wi-Fi card is connected to a directional Wi-Fi antenna to provide a link to another UMN500 unit. Typical maximum range of the Onmi-directional antenna to a laptop is 500m, the laptop is the limiting factor in this distance. The maximum range of the 10dbi directional antenna is typically 5km, although longer ranges can be obtained depending on local topology and antenna alignment.
