UseMyNet 3G Router - Improves 3G reception for Rural Broadband3G Router Rural Broadband

The UseMyNet 3G Router works in areas where you cannot get a good signal on a 3G dongle. It is ideal for farms and houses on the edge of a 3G coverage area. We supply a 3G router and a high gain 3G antenna.  This system is new to the UK but has been is use in Australia for the last few years where they have an even greater distance between rural properties ! The router requires a 3G SIM card from Three, Vodafone, T-Mobile, O2 or Orange. You of course should select the network with the best positioned transmitter for your property.

We offer two options for the router; an indoor option with a long antenna lead and an outdoor version in a waterproof case that mounts on the antenna pole. The advantage of the outdoor option is that there as the router is closer to the antenna there is an improvement in signal. We'd recommend that with the indoor pack the router is still kept in the loft to minimise the length of the antenna cable. Mounting and aligning the antenna requires about the same DIY skills as fixing a TV antenna we supply a full DIY kit or you can get a local TV antenna installation firm to installl for you.

Finding your nearest 3G Base Station.

Ofcom have a very useful website where you can find the location of your nearest 3G Base Station in the UK.  You can enter an address or post code and browse a map of your local area with the mobile phone Base Stations displayed.

Ofcom Sitefinder http://www.sitefinder.ofcom.org.uk/

To see if the Base Station is 3G click on "View Base Details" if the "Type of Transmission" is UMTS then it is a 3G base station.  If the base station is listed as GSM then it is a 2G Base Station and fast mobile broadband will not be available from it.

How far will it reach ?

Depending on the local landscape and hills / buildings in the way we advised that you can get a good speed 2-12 miles from a 3G transmitter. Of course the further away you are the more precise the antenna allignment needs to be and the greater height you need for the antenna. If you live in a very remote location we'd be happy to lend you a unit to try out, if you can get a sucessful link we could use you as a "case study" on the website.

Money Back Guarantee

If you purchase the system and are unable to get a connection you are happy with then you can return the system to us for a refund. All we ask is that the system is returned within 30 days of purchase and is in good condition. The refund will be minus the shipping costs.
